A jowl lift incorporates a fine incision along the front of the ear (which helps hide any visible scarring. The area above the jaw is lifted and lightly tightened, internal permanent lifting sutures are placed in the underlying support tissue and excess skin is trimmed.

If needed, liposuction with a tiny cannula removes accumulated fat under the chin and internal tightening sutures are permanently placed to accentuate a cleaner, sharper chin and neck definition.

A jowl lift can be performed with local anesthesia.

Dr. Sikorski will make small incisions and mobilize the skin and soft tissues of the lower face and jawline (and in most cases, the neck), advancing them upward and laterally to eliminate sagging (jowls) and provide the appearance of improved skin tone. The excess skin is removed.

Patients who are concerned with sagging jowls may have laxity of the neck area as well, in which case a weekend necklift or modified necklift can be useful to create a clean line and contour.
